Seven News was the night's biggest program overall, averaging 1.58m viewers, while 9News followed with 1.39m. A Current Affair also had a strong night for Nine, drawing 1.16m.

In the reality and entertainment battle, The Block was comfortably ahead of The Voice, which averaged 918,000 for Seven.

10's Have You Been Paying Attention? pulled in 669,000, while Deal Or No Deal: Celebrity Jackpot reached the Top 30 with an average audience of 304,000.

Elsewhere, Home and Away averaged 1.02m for Seven, Tipping Point Australia drew 873,000 for Nine, and The Chase Australia brought in 737,000.

ABC's strongest evening results came from ABC News on 977,000, 7.30 on 749,000, Australian Story on 602,000 and Media Watch on 570,000.

In breakfast, Sunrise led with 483,000 viewers, ahead of Today on 289,000 and ABC News Breakfast on 228,000.
