After a messy first week, Chantel and Wyatt were left questioning whether they even wanted to stay in the competition after a production budget error made it look like they had badly overspent.

The problem? Their builder’s invoice had reportedly been counted twice, meaning the figure they were confronted with was wrong.

That is not exactly the kind of admin hiccup you want when your reputation, your business, and your very expensive television renovation are all on the line.

Chantel And Wyatt Refuse To Return

The episode opened with Chantel and Wyatt away from site, still furious over how the budget issue had played out.

Their builders were packing up, production could not get a straight answer, and the couple were seriously considering walking away from The Block altogether.

For Wyatt, the mistake was not just about money. He was worried the incorrect figure made them look careless, dishonest, or unable to manage their books.

Chantel was also clearly shaken, feeling isolated and unsure whether she could keep going in an environment where she felt the story had already turned against them.

And honestly, for week two? That is a lot.

The Houses Are Locked In

While Chantel and Wyatt stayed away, the other teams had to keep moving.

Scott Cam and Alice Stolz gathered everyone for the House Decider, which confirmed where each couple would spend the rest of the season.

Courtney and Sev, fresh from their guest bedroom win, had first pick and chose House 4. Adam and Jolene stayed in House 1, Chantel and Wyatt landed House 2, Lisa and Rosco took House 3, and Rick and Tayla remained in House 5.

With the houses sorted, Alice reminded the teams exactly what kind of buyers they were meant to be impressing in Mount Eliza.

Translation: this is not the week to start cutting corners and hoping nobody notices.

Open For Inspections Gets Spicy

The teams then got the chance to inspect each other’s guest bedrooms, which meant everyone could quietly judge the judging.

Courtney and Sev’s winning room clearly gave the others plenty to think about, while the scoreboard from week one still hung over the site.

Rick and Tayla had finished last, Lisa and Rosco were just ahead of them, Chantel and Wyatt were third despite the chaos, Adam and Jolene were second, and Courtney and Sev were well out in front.

But there was no time to sulk, gloat, or start a passive-aggressive cushion discussion.

Family bathroom week had arrived.

Waterproof Wednesday Is Dead

In a deeply rude twist for everyone’s stress levels, Waterproof Wednesday was replaced by Waterproof Tuesday.

That gave the teams even less time to lock in plans, sort trades, order materials and make sure their bathrooms were actually ready for waterproofing.

Naturally, several couples decided this was the perfect moment to start changing things.

Adam questioned the need for an external bathroom door. Lisa and Rosco wanted a spa-like retreat. Rick and Tayla planned a travertine vanity wall. Courtney and Sev pushed for a major layout change, including a powder room entrance and a different skylight setup.

Somehow, the most chaotic plan was not even the team who might quit.

Scott And Julian Step In

Back at the share house, Scott Cam and The Block co-creator Julian Cress met Chantel and Wyatt face to face.

They apologised for the budget mistake and explained that the accounting system had doubled up the builder’s invoice. The show accepted responsibility and made it clear the couple had not overspent.

But Wyatt was still deeply upset, especially because he felt the damage had already been done.

Chantel seemed more open to staying, while Wyatt was still leaning toward leaving. Eventually, they asked for more time to decide.

A call from Wyatt’s mum helped shift the mood, with Wyatt later saying her message was basically to grow up and move forward.

Sometimes reality TV really does come down to a mother telling you to pull yourself together.

Bathroom Budgets Land

While House 2 remained in limbo, the other teams submitted their bathroom estimates.

Rick and Tayla came in lowest at $17,740. Adam and Jolene estimated $18,722.50. Lisa and Rosco landed at $20,102.12, while Courtney and Sev had the biggest confirmed number at $20,700.25.

Chantel and Wyatt still had no confirmed figure, because their entire week was being swallowed by the fallout.

By the end of the episode, The Block had its houses, its bathroom plans, and its first proper revolt of the season.

Not bad for week two. Slightly terrifying for everyone involved, but not bad.
